PWR BTTM Remains 'Unafraid' Of Anti-Gay Protesters Outside Mississippi Concert

PWR BTTM faces anti-gay mob in the best way possible.

PWR BTTM arrived at their venue in Jackson, Mississippi last night only to be met with picket signs and anti-gay protesters waiting outside.

The band is known for its queer sensitivity--band members Liv Bruce and Ben Hopkins sport make-up and dresses regularly.

The protesters screamed homophobic insults to both PWR BTTM and the attendees of their concert. They eventually took to Twitter to assure their fans that they were "unafraid" of the protesters.

"We moved the entrance to the show to the back of the venue and blocked off the windows at the front," PWR BTTM said in a statement to SPIN. "It was a freaky ass night, but the local police helped us keep things safe."

The night definitely had the band's members shook up, but they say the rest of the tour will be unaffected.

"This scary thing happened last night in Mississippi, and we have a feeling it won't be the last time we will see this at one of our shows," PWR BTTM wrote to Facebook. "We want to thank Big Sleepy's and all the folks at the show for helping us deal with the situation....Queer is Invincible"
