Disney Just Introduced This Spork as the New Toy Story Toy

The laws of the Toy Story universe (and the rest of the Pixar universe?) have long been nebulous and undefined. They're vague, too. During what part of the toy production process are the Woodies and Buzz Lightyears of the world imbued with the spark of life? When does a toy in Toy Story go from a lifeless plastic mold to a miracle of creation and consciousness? No one truly, canonically knows, and with Disney's release of the first teaser for Toy Story 4 this morning, we aren't any closer to figuring it out.

The teaser opens on the beloved toys from the franchise - Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Hamm, one of the green Pizza Planet aliens, and Slinky Dog - holding each other and spinning in a circle, a portrait of Disney glee. Then, a gangly, DIY toy spins into view with a distressed look on its face before screaming, "I don't belong here!" and causing chaos.

According to Disney, that Pinterest-project-gone-wrong is "Forky," a toy Bonnie brings home (after making it at school?) that embarks on "a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends" and "will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy." Watch, below.
