Now the question is, will Sophia Bush and Brittany Snow kiss again?

After nearly two decades, it looks like we're finally getting the John Tucker Must Die sequel that Millennials have been dying for.

On Sunday, during a panel at Epic Cons Chicago, stars Arielle Kebbel, Jesse Metcalfe, and Sophia Bush teased that a follow-up to the beloved teen comedy is in the works.

Metcalfe said "there is a script" in the works and then caused uproarious applause when he asked if crowd was interested in a sequel, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"I've been hearing rumblings about this script circulating Hollywood — apparently it's amazing," the Desperate Housewives alum continued. Metcalfe admitted that he hadn't gotten his hands on the script yet, but said he'd "definitely love to be a part of it" and "can't wait to read it."

Kebbel, who is producing the new film, confirmed that a script for the sequel has already been written, and the original cast is set to star alongside some newcomers. "The rumor is true," she said. "I started producing a few years ago. There is a script. We are very proud of it. It does involve all of the OG cast."

The original movie follows high schoolers Heather (Ashanti), Beth (Bush), and Carrie (Kebbel), who find out that they've all been dating John Tucker (Metcalfe) at the same time and plan to exact their revenge with the help of new girl Kate (Brittany Snow).

John Tucker Must Die is a loose retelling of The Merry Wives of Windsor, following the trend of teen comedy retellings of Shakespeare plays, made famous by Clueless and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Bush — who has since come out as queer and is currently dating pro soccer star Ashlyn Harris — said that "she's ready to go" with the new film.

Kebbel also teased that John Tucker might get a redemption arc in the new film. "Jesse may or may not get a chance to change, which would be very exciting," she said.

Then Metcalfe cheekily asked the question on everyone's mind: "Do I get a chance to wear a thong again?"

"We wanted to talk to you about that," Kebbel quipped back. "We were thinking you'd actually, like, make your own brand, endorse it. It'd be a whole thing."

"I'm here for it," Metcalfe said. "I can't wait to unleash this dad bod on the big screen."

Metcalfe wearing a thong (and nothing else) and Bush and Snow kissing were peak queer awakening moments for baby gays who were coming of age in the 2000s.

While Kebbel said she couldn't divulge any more details, she thanked fans for their "enthusiasm" and said that it "has been a very special thing to see the love and support of this almost 20 years later."
