'The Hobbit' Trailer Released

If you're into monsters, fantasy and facial hair then today's your lucky day.

The first trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, which won't hit regular Earth until next December, was just released and we've got to say that it makes the epic tale of pocket hero Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman) look pretty spectacular.

HGIC Ian McKellan is back in all of his wolfish glory, and other old favorites like Frodo (Elijah Wood), Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) and that little jewelry monster Gollum are also along for the ride. There are some new heroes and villains in the mix as well, most notable the exceptionally handsome Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakensheild.

While there are sure to be plenty of spectacular CGI worlds and dragon fights flashing across movie screens in the coming year, it looks safe to say that The Hobbit is going to be the one to beat.
