Fashion Week First Look: Moschino Fall/Winter 2011

The designers over at Moschino must have excelled at physical ed in high school. Their latest collection is an ode to rugby and all its masculine, athletic delights. They smartly didn't take their inspiration to literally and joined jaunty sports-tinged pieces with more traditional clothing. The colorful, playful collection was in line with the brand's cheeky, funky philosophy without being too gimmicky, a tricky path to tread. Our only concern is that the collection as a whole could have used a bit more focus as there was a cavalcade of divergent looks that lacked cohesion. That being said, there were still some sumptuous and desirable pieces that made us long for a collegiate sporting redux.
