Light up a cigarette, because this is going to be good.

Having been through hell and back, it should be no problem for John Constantine to come back from the death that accompanies a TV series' cancellation after a single season.

Fans of the comic book version of Constantine will finally get to see a truer version of the DC character, when he's brought back from the proverbial dead for a guest appearance in an upcoming Legends of Tomorrow, which takes place in the same universe as Constantine.

During the release of the show, NBC came under fire for ignoring parts of Constantine's canonical character, including his bisexuality. "Within this tome of three decades [of comics] there might have been one or two issues where he's seen getting out of bed with a man," said executive producer of the failed show Daniel Cerone. "So [maybe] 20 years from now?"

Now that he's under the DC umbrella at The CW, Constantine, who will be reprised by actor Matt Ryan, will be a much more recognizable version of himself. "As for the character of Constantine," said Legends of Tomorrow EP Phil Klemmer to The Hollywood Reporter, "we knew that an alienated, chain-smoking, bisexual, world-weary demonologist would feel right at home among our Legends." Ryan will make his reappearance as Constantine in episode 310--consider us ready to take a long drag of our cigarette.
