Shane Dawson Gets Engaged After Being Accused of Bestiality

Shane Dawson is now engaged after getting down on two knees (did he not know it's only supposed to be one?) to ask his fellow YouTuber boyfriend Ryland Adams to marry him. I'm happy for you and I'mma let you finish but...we need to talk about the timing.

Because you see, Dawson has been in the news quite a bit recently and not because of his relationship -- with his boyfriend, anyway.

Over the weekend, Dawson blew up on Twitter after a 2015 clip from his podcast resurfaced in which he joked about having sex with his cat. Yes, I said what I said. The clips were dug up by fans of influencer and Twitter personality Jovan, who had spent the week feuding with beauty guru James Charles. Jovan's followers started replying to him with evidence of other YouTubers' problematic past, and they repeatedly dragged Dawson for his cultural insensitivity (he's done blackface a lot) and jokes about beastiality.

On Sunday, Dawson acknowledged his previous statements, tweeting that he "didnt fuck my cat. i didnt cum on my cat. i didnt put my dick anywhere near my cat. Ive never done anything weird with my cats. ive apologized many times for all the dumb shit ive said in videos and podcasts over the years. ive learned my lesson over and over again and im more confident now in my ability to be entertaining by just being myself and not being so shocking for laughs. that story was fake and was based on a dumb awful sketch idea I had years ago that i never made (THANK GOD) and when the opportunity came up for a funny moment in the podcast I told it as if it was a real story which was DISGUSTING and VERY VERY DUMB.

"theres so many things im so proud of. but all of my offensive jokes, over the top stories, and insensitive jokes are something that still haunt me and something I have to be faced with everyday on the internet. and it never gets easier."

And two days later, he asked Adams to marry him. Interesting timing! I'm not saying that Shane Dawson got engaged so people would stop talking about him fucking his cat but...I'm not not saying it.
