As Discovery Channel celebrates its 26th of Shark Week, Fusion is offering fans something a bit different. The network is chasing after all things bears in a week-long exploration of the gay subculture that has redefined body image among members of the LGBT community.

While a somewhat cheeky approach to the launch, Fusion's Alicia Menendez Tonight goes deeper than body hair with segments about the rise of bear culture, life in Provincetown, and a celebration of ten years of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

For those not well versed in woof speak, the show offers a beginner’s course in bear terminology. AM Tonight asks some of the 10,000 hairy and rugged men gathered at the tip of Cape Cod to help explain:

Sure Shark Week has more bite, but Bear Week has more grrr.
