There's something to be said for the downward trend of coming out videos and stories from today's LGBTQ youth. While there's no argument that coming out is an extremely important moment in any queer person's life, especially in a society that was much less accepting than today's, it's becoming less of a spectacle--and that's not a bad thing.

Even YouTube coming out videos, which have practically become a trend, have changed drastically in the last few years. From teary-eyed worries over whether or not they'll still have their parents love, to empowering, unapologetic decrees of self-worth, the style of the coming out video may have changed, but the principle remains the same.
