In addition to giving two decades and more than $300 million to the cause, Gill and the foundation he started in 1994 have been fostering alliances with both Republicans and Democrats to protect and expand LGBT rights. In post-Windsor America, Gill was prepared for the backlash, and he'd already set his sights on comprehensive non-discrimination, to forever end so-called "religious freedom" laws designed to marginalize LGBTs.
