Laura Dern and K Stew Pull a Queer Literary Hoax in JT Leroy Film

Jeremiah Terminator Leroy will close out the Toronto International Film Festival.

Taking its place among the likes of Anna Delvey and the Bling Ring as one of the greatest cons of all time is the story of JT Leroy. Laura Albert penned several novels under the persona of Jeremiah Terminator Leroy, a young gay man. For public appearances, she employed her boyfriend's sister, Savannah Knoop to portray the character.

The great American literary hoax was the subject of Girl Boy Girl: How I Became JT Leroy, a 2008 tell-all memoir by Knoop, as well as Author: The JT LeRoy Story, a 2016 documentary from Jeff Feuerzeig.

Now, it's the subject of a highly-anticipated feature film, Jeremiah Terminator Leroy. Directed by Justin Kelly (King Cobra, I Am Michael), it stars Laura Dern as Albert and and Kristen Stewart as Knoop. It was just announced that the film will close out the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

Take a look above for a first look at Stewart and Dern in Jeremiah Terminator Leroy. If you could judge a movie based on wigs alone, we'd give this one an Oscar immediately.
