Incredibles 2 Flexes Muscles with Biggest Animated Box Office Opening of All Time

Making $180 million opening weekend, the highly anticipated Incredibles 2 absolutely crushed all previous animated films at the box office. The film beats out Finding Dory, which grossed $135 million when it premiered in June two years ago. Only two films this year had larger opening weekends, Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther.

Already, the film has brought in over $230 million worldwide.

The New York Times says the movie plays "more like a broad action film than a PG-rated cartoon. About 25 percent of the audience was over the age of 35, according to Disney."

Lucky for us, Disney is planning more Incredibles installments as part of an ongoing franchise.
