It is not OK to bully people on the internet. With great warmth and respect, we present 5 national anthem performances that objectively did not go well.

OK, Fergie had a really bad day the other day--that much is clear. Her national anthem performance was... really bad. But she does have vocal ability, and she did showcase some (unique) vibrato. If her twangy scatting style had been paired with a more appropriate song choice, like "My Humps," "Fergalicious," or really any song that isn't the national anthem or "Silent Night," she would have gotten away with it.

But Fergie has had enough internet dragging for one lifetime, and she did pretty well compared to some. Below, we've rounded up five national anthem performances worse than hers:

Roseanne Barr

Ok, so obviously she sounds bad, but this is actually genius and we're very here for it:

Christina Aguilera

OK, wait, this vocal performance is actually the stuff of legend and we can't say with honesty that we could ever call this worse than Fergie. But Xtina did screw up the lyrics. Big time. And Fergie didn't.

Michael Bolton

We don't quite understand what happened here... is there a recording happening that he's not singing at the same time as? Does he or doesn't he know what's going on? I don't know, man.

This Poor Apologetic Girl

This is really unfortunate: this woman stopped singing twice because she flubbed the lyrics, apologizing, then ran off of the ice rink to booing, then returned and promptly fell onto the ice on her butt:

This Poor Tumbling Speed Skater

Now, this guy isn't singing the "Star-Spangled Banner," no... but he is singing a national anthem of some kind while skating around an ice rink, and he does completely wipe out mid-song. Fergie would never.
