The Girls creator will play a famous wannabe-murderer on the upcoming season.

Since it was announced that Lena Dunham would be joining the cast of American Horror Story: Cult, fans have been dying to know exactly what role the Girls creator and star would play on the horror anthology series. This week, FX screened the first three episodes of the new season, and creator Ryan Murphy revealed that Dunham would play a little-known historical figure.

During a Q&A following the screening, Murphy explained that longtime AHS cast member Evan Peters would play a number of infamous cult leaders throughout the season, including Charles Manson, Jim Jones, David Koresh and Andy Warhol, which is where Dunham comes in. "Lena Dunham is playing Valerie Solanas, who attempted to shoot Andy Warhol," Murphy explained, "because she felt denied the cult of personality that was Warhol and the Factory at the time."

Murphy also revealed that Cult will be the first season of AHS with no supernatural elements, so anyone hoping for kinky ghost sex is sure to be disappointed.
