#Instacrush: Queer Body Positivity by @roscoeramone

Oslo's Rosco Ramone is one of our favorite queers on instagram, both for her outrageously beautiful photos and the incisive captions she pairs them with. Ramone challenges homophobia, misogyny and bodyshaming time after time, all the while looking incredible: her blue 'do is a Manic Panic fantasy. Ramone uses her platform to champion body positivity in a way that's effective because of how matter of fact it is: she loves her body and could care less what you have to say about it. Ramone also frequently draws attention to the intersections of gender, race, class and queerness when it comes to what we find beautiful.

clean eating is when you drink wine and eat cake while doing the dishes. an essential part of self-care is learning to dislike/hate the people who have treated you poorly. it's human to romanticize your abuser. don't! soften into your hatred. for the sake of your sanity and safety

happy 4th of july not so proud to be american this year for obvious reasons, but I'm grateful for the american peoples charisma, creativity, and RESISTANCE. i still believe we're the most woke and culturally relevant people (thanks in large part to #blackgirlmagic) nr 1 thing on my wishlist for the USA is that we hold cops accountable for their actions, it's honestly not that much to ask for!!!!!

today felt like a @devhynes music video. just a gentle reminder that i am the judge, jury and executioner of my instagram and if you leave vile comments on my photos i've decided to channel rihanna and block, block, block. this is a body positive space and i don't want the people who follow me to come across your fat-phobic comments anymore and unconsciously absorb your toxicity. you aren't a health expert, you are bored. netflix has some great shows this season. or you can work on your application to medical school so that in the future, you can bill me for that second-rate analysis.

trying to break down the concept of intersectionality to the lena dunhams gets old. if you are going to market your event as "queer", please make sure the bouncers and bartenders working at the venue aren't femme-phobic, transphobic, or racist. poc already have a hard time trusting white queers (i mean besides the movie "party monster"). you want trans folks, genderqueer ppl, and drag performers to show up and "turn looks", but then you have guards policing their gender when they have to use the restroom. hire trans and poc queers and make sure they will be in a safe and supportive environment. i'm already celebrating pride by eating a whole pizza because my belly is a true queer icon.

okay it's summer, so here's a message to the skinny people in my life: please stop talking about how you feel fat/look fat and therefore feel gross in front on me. i don't think you understand how RUDE this is?! even my sister and girlfriend are guilty of this.. i know it's easy to forget and fuck up. but listen, fat ppl are out here dealing with chub rub, harassment, and just trying to stay cool in the heat. fighting not to internationalize the fatphobia of your nearest and dearest is just too much can we just cool it with the not-good-enoughs this summer?
