“If You’re Hearing This”

Summer is the perfect time of year for some romantic yearning. In the latest effort from Hook N Sling, Parson James and Betty Who, we get just that.

"If You're Hearing This" tells the story of what the narrator is willing to go through to either meet someone again, or find the perfect stranger. "If you're hearing this / I'm at King and 5th / 8 to 10 I'll sit / at this table for two."

The track plays over a mid-tempo beat that fits perfectly at the beginning of a hopeful night our or at the end of another evening out looking for love. "If you're hearing this / know I'm listenin' / I'm still wandering / down these lose avenues."

Fresh off of her sophomore album, The Valley, Betty Who isn't worried about taking a slow and steady approach to her ever-rising career. "For better or for worse, I have yet to have this big, I was playing for 500 people and now I'm playing for 80,000," she recently told Out. "It's more like, now I'm playing for 2,000 people. Every time I come back [to a city] and play a show, it's for 200-300 more people. There's something that is so rewarding about that path, even though it feels like sometimes it's harder than it should be." Though she may not have struck her meteoric moment yet, it's never too late in pop music.
