Iconic comedy program Saturday Night Live has made major efforts to improve its diversity for the upcoming Season 42. They've hired a new openly gay head writer, Chris Kelly, their first Latina cast member, Melissa Villasenor, and, now, they've added out, Latino writer and comedia Julio Torres.

Also known by his online title "Space Prince," Torres is the young, alt, quirky voice SNL needs. Check out some of his standup below.

Torres has worked on Mas Mejor, Fred Armisen and Horatio Sanz's Latino-interest web show, and guest written for SNL in the past. He was also named Comic to Watch by Comedy Central.

After the respective exits of Jay Pharaoh and Taran Killam, the new SNL season is poised to have a total change of pace. And following Kate McKinnon's Emmy win last night, they're geared for a successful year.

SNL returns to NBC on October 1.
