FX Releasing Multiple Trailers to Keep AHS Season 6 Theme a Secret

FX Releasing Multiple Trailers to Keep AHS Season 6 Theme a Secret

Creators of the show are mum this season as a different way of keeping fans intrigued.

Don't try and figure out the theme behind Season 6 of American Horror Story, because FX isn't going to tell.

Network executives and creators of the show are releasing fake red herring trailers for fun to throw fans off of the scent of what's coming this fall. Only one trailer of the many released will actually be real.

"We thought it would really be fun to keep it a mystery," said FX Productions CEO John Landgraf at a Television Critics Association panel today. "What [FX marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons and her team, with Ryan [Murphy]'s help, did is they went out and made many more trailers for hypothetical seasons of American Horror Story; different genres and different places."

He continued, "One of them is accurate and the others are all misdirects. So we're just having fun with it, and we just thought it would be fun after five years of doing it one way."

We won't know until September 14 what new horrors FX has in store for us. Check out the released trailers, all but one of which are fake, below.
