NPH Unlikely to Host Oscars Again: 'I Don't Know That ... My Soul Could Take It'

Everybody knows that hosting the Oscars is a really tough gig. Seth MacFarlane, Jon Stewart, and James Franco and Anne Hathaway all got their asses handed to them by the award show. And now we should add Neil Patrick Harris to that list.

Though he did a passable job, many were disappointed by his inability to bring more pizzazz to Hollywood's biggest circle-jerk. The booking was too much for the consummate showman to handle.

"I don't know that my family nor my soul could take it," Harris told the Huffington Post. "It's a beast."

"It was fun to check off the list, but for the amount of time spent and the understandable opinionated response, I don't know that it's a delightful balance to do every year or even again."
