Six Queer Activists Make a Pride Flag with Their Bodies in Russia

The Hidden Flag

They showed the country hosting the World Cup true pride.

Six Latin American LGBTQ+ activists took to the streets of anti-gay Russia, where the World Cup is being held, and each wore a soccer jersey of their home country. Their walking together, wearing the jerseys, formed a pride flag.

Marta Marquez, Eric Houter, Eloi Pierozan Junior, Guillermo Leon, Vanesa Paola Ferrario, and Mateo Fernandez Gomez (from Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia respectively) took a bold risk making a statement against Russia's homophobic laws while the country hosts the World Cup. They walked together in Russia, creating their own rainbow out of soccer jerseys.
