A recent poll found that Americans overall are more supportive of same-sex marriage than before, per Huffington Post. Gallup's annual Values and Morals poll found that 67 percent of Americans surveyed agreed that same-sex marriage should be legally valid. (This is up 40 percent from 1996 when Gallup first asked the question.)
Furthermore, the poll found that Democrats are nearly twice as likely as Republicans to support marriage equality, with 83% supporting compared to just 44% for Republicans.

It's to note that while the court's ruling in June 2015 during the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges case legalized marriage equality, same-sex marriage continues to face persistent threats.
