Charlottesville White Supremacist Convicted of Felony For Beating Black Man

Jacob Goodwin was found guilty of felony "malicious wounding."

White supremacist Jacob Goodwin was convicted by a jury of felony "malicious wounding" for attacking a black man in a parking garage in Charlottesville, SC on August 12.

Goodwin, 23, was convicted for beating 20-year-old DeAndre Harris alongside several other men who have since been arrested as well, after a video of the attack surfaced in October. The other attacker are Alex Michael Ramos, Daniel Borden, and Tyler Watkins, all awaiting trial in the near future.

According to The Washington Post, the jury has recommended a 10 year sentence and $20K fine, though an official sentencing won't come until August.

The attack happened during the highly racist "Unite The Right" rally in Charlottesville last summer. Goodwin was wearing a military tactile helmet and carrying a shield during the assault.
