Speaking at her daughter Heather Heyer's memorial service, Susan Bro had some strong words to say about white nationalists. Heyer, 32, was killed by a man this weekend who drove his car into a group of people protesting white nationalists picketing in Charlottesville.
"They tried to kill my child to shut her up," Bro said during a speech at her daughter's funeral. "Well, guess what: you just magnified her."

Bro had previously told the Huffington Post: "Heather was not about hate, Heather was about stopping hatred. Heather was about bringing an end to injustice. I don't want her death to be a focus for more hatred, I want her death to be a rallying cry for justice and equality and fairness and compassion."
And in another Huffington interview she continued to speak of her daughter's death, saying, "Somehow I almost feel that this is what she was born to be, is a focal point for change. I'm proud that what she was doing was peaceful, she wasn't there fighting with people."
