Drag Race creator RuPaul sat down with Access Hollywood today to talk about the devastating attack that took place in Orlando this weekend.
RuPaul explained that, "Every American who believes in what this country stands for is shaken to the core. And it really does have to stop. And like I said, a collective shift in our consciousness has to happen."
Two former Drag Race contestants, Kenya Michaels and Roxxxy Andrews, were at Pulse nightclub Sunday morning during the shooting. Both have been reported safe, although the cousin of Jade Sotomayor, 34-year-old Edward Sotomayor Jr., was one of the 49 victims of the massacre.
RuPaul continued: "I've been really numbed by this on so many different levels, not only as an American, but as a human being. To see that we're still in that place."
