Alanis Morissette Is Going on Tour with Garbage and Liz Phair

The tour will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Morissette’s ‘Jagged Little Pill.’

The transition from Hot Girl Summer to Sad Girl Autumn is officially complete, as Alanis Morissette has announced she'll be celebrating the 25th anniversary of her seminal album Jagged Little Pill with a 2020 tour. Morissette will be joined on the road with Liz Phair and Garbage, making the tour essentially Lilith Fair-lite.

Varietyreported the news this morning, unveiling that the tour will kick off June 2 in Portland, Oregon before continuing throughout the U.S. -- notably skipping New York City, where Morissette is launching the Jagged Little Pill musical this week. She's performing the album in full at the Apollo Theater on Monday night, so maybe that's why she decided not to stop in New York City next summer. Those of us who couldn't get tickets for the Apollo show would like a few words!

Jagged Little Pillis one of the most celebrated albums of the 90s, winning Album of the Year at the Grammys. Morissette was the youngest artist in history to win the award until 2010, when Taylor Swift took the title. Songs like "Ironic," "You Oughta Know," "You Learn," and "Hand in My Pocket" have become ubiquitous and helped shape the pop-rock sound that the decade would come to be known for.

Liz Phair and Garbage -- the grunge band led by vocalist Shirley Manson -- were Morissette's 90s femme alt-rock peers, making this lineup nothing short of perfection.

Tickets for the Jagged Little Pill tour go on sale to the public on December 13. Check out the full list of tour dates here.
