Italian designer Roberto Cavalli is known for his sexy, animalistic designs, but in a recent video with HuffPo and D.Repubblica, the louche personality bluntly gives the US of A a nice, big one-two punch, by first saying, "Just look at American Fashion, which is almost fashion, it's terrible and you almost can't even look at it," before continuing to explain the reason. "It has been driven by a great journalist, Anna Wintour, who wants all women to be like her and to dress the way she does." Well, um, wow. That's an interesting statement. Dissing a whole country and their fashion sense is certainly one thing, but to bring our girl Anna into the crossfire is not the solution. Check out the full video here, wherein he urges young designers, "Don't follow designers like us too closely. Try to create a new and different direction," and espouses that, "Success is not being on the pages of weekly magazines and in the great fashion magazines." We're glad he feels that way, because we think he won't be seeing too many of his goods between the Vogue covers after that burn.
