Should we expect new music from Blood Orange soon?
Blood Orange's (a.k.a. Devote Hynes) Cupid Deluxe was one of the standout albums of 2014, hands down. We loved it so much that we also featured Hynes on the cover of our March Music Issue.
Since Cupid Deluxe, we've been waiting anxiously for Hynes' next single, album, or EP. Well, it turns out that Hynes says he's got new stuff...but we're not gonna hear it yet.
Hynes tweeted today that he was planning on releasing a free 20-song album, but that was the same week that he and his girlfriend Samantha Urbani were attacked by security at Lollapalooza. Hynes says that "the attention sucked," so he nixed the idea.
The week I got attacked at Lolla I was originally planning to drop a free 20 track album but then cancelled it because the attention sucked.

While it's a bummer that we didn't get 20 new FREE Blood Orange tracks, Hynes says that if you happen to bump into him, ask him about his new stuff, he might have a freebie.
Hynes concluded his Twitter burst with his thoughts about the state of music today.
But if you need more Dev Hynes in your life RIGHT NOW then might I bring your attention to this GAP ad. As part of the retailer's "Play Your Stripes" campaign, Hynes features in a tightly choreographed spot, playing his shirt like an instrument, and dancing to his Cupid Deluxe hit, "It Is What It Is."
