There’s nothing a like a good Twitter meltdown to start your week. As stressful as the days ahead look, at least you probably won’t be reduced to ranting in 140 character bursts like some sort of angry drunk with a case of OCD. Case in point: Liam Payne’s Duck Dynasty Twitter episode. ICYMI, this Saturday, Payne penned this Tweet directed at Willie Robertson, son of Phil Robertson. If you've forgotten, Phil's anti-gay and racist remarks in GQ got him a temporary suspension from the show.
When the media got wind of the story—and pointed out the implications of giving “huge love” to a family whose most prominent member is a vocal homophobe and “huge respect” to the “family values you still all behold”—Payne went off. Here's the rant in full, start at the bottom and work your way up.
First of all, the word you’re looking for is “hold” not “behold”; that could have been a typo, but I kind of feel that you don’t know how to use that word. Secondly, just like with Phil Robertson’s comments, freedom of speech only protects your right to say what you want—it does not protect you from the consequences of your words. Payne’s bandmates have been mum about the issue.
