WATCH: John Grant Play an Icelandic King Ásgeir's 'King and Cross' Video

The sardonic and melodic John Grant is always one for surprises. As he explained to us in a story earlier this year, he's been compared to odd-but-adored comedian Louis C.K. "That's fine with me," he said. "That's who I want to be. He's beautiful." Since his first album was titled Queen of Denmark, maybe it's not so surprising that he's now gone all Viking (or at least halfway to Ren Faire) as some sort of fantasy king in the craggy peaks of Iceland in Asgeir's "King and Cross" video.

If he ever wants another, we think Grant could at least play an extra in the next Merlyn or King Arthur franchise that will inevitably make its way to Syfy.
