You may not have heard about Esther Povitsky yet, but you're about to. MTV's wrapping up production on a docu-comedy starring the young comedienne, called Little Esther. The show will be about Povitsky -- who has become famous for her hilarious stand-up and infamous for her viral videos -- and her relationships with snarky LA comedian friends. In her youtube videos, Povitsky roams around Hollywood pretending to do a school project and asks strangers, in an unselfconciously earnestness, sex questions (but things like, "why do they call it a blow job?"). It's as funny and as cringeworthy as it sounds.
MTV is taking a two-pronged approach, scheduling its "Retro Mania" block for nine till noon for the next six weeks. Most exciting (and perfect for anyone who enjoyed Ms. Povitsky), will be the re-airing of select episodes of Daria (love!) and also every episode of The Hills and the first two seasons of Laguna Beach (who cares and how are those shows retro?) I think it goes with out saying that "I want my MTV."
