Why is this necklace, which is made from sterling silver, called the Pearl Necklace? The foxy minxes over at Jezebel made it a point to find out. It's designer Leah Piepgras is selling the accessory for $450, and the concept behind the nebulous, organic shape is that it's supposed to look like semen that's been oh-so-sweetly deposited on your neck/collar area in a moment of beautiful intimacy. Um...classy? Granted, if you didn't tell someone what it was, they probably wouldn't make the connection, but still. According to her website, the designer puts a good spin on it:
Pearl Necklace is a seemingly amorphous cast silver shape on a chain that is actually an accurate representation of semen. It is a visual marker of chaos turned perfection through an act of beauty and lust. Pearl Necklace is a physical reminder of a fleeting moment of pleasure.
Whatever, you can dress it up with all the fancy-pants language you want, the fact of the matter is it's still a necklace that looks like cum. Not our cup of tea.
