A Clueless Musical is Coming to (Off) Broadway

Following in the footsteps of Mean Girls, another iconic teen comedy is coming to Broadway: The New Group announced that as part of its 2018-19 productions, they have a Clueless musical in the works. That's right, Cher is coming to Broadway -- well, Cher is coming to Broadway in The Cher Show, but the other Cher is also coming to Off Broadway.

The musical will be written by Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original film. The Clueless musical will a feature a "score that reimagines '90s hits into ingenious parodies and yearning monologues for her lovesick characters," which is a bit worrying, but ok, sure. Rock of Ages' Kristin Hanggi will direct.
