We've seen the brilliant Drew Droege before. The comedian, actor, Groundlings teacher, and general, all-around ingenious humorist delighted the Internet with his viral video impressions of late-'90s It Girl Chloe Sevigny, which landed him a spot on our Out100 list in 2011. We followed that up by having Droege contribute his skewering essays; he's shared his thoughts on bachelorette parties in gay bars and acting in low-budget horror films, so far. Now Droege is tackling a new project: the web series Hollywood Acting Studio, a comedy channel that offers shows every Tuesday and Thursday.
The YouTube summary for Hollywood Acting Studio explains that it:
"follows the hilarious unorthodox teaching methods of Professor Lafrange, a failed Hollywood hopeful teaching a new crop of aspiring actors at a local community college. Students learn the pillars of the craft -- auditioning, green-screen acting, crying, etc. -- through Lafrange's deranged and pretentious methods set against a slew of blockbuster films."
The show will premiere September 10 via YouTube. Until then, we have a trailer of Droege telling a 43-year-old aspiring actress to get the fuck out of his class! We love it!
