Fashion Week First Look: Prada Fall/Winter 2011

Of all the Milanese labels, its an indisputable fact that Prada is looked to as the most directional and forward thinking. So it came with a bit of sadness that, while the collection was definitely not bad, it lacked the innovation and freshness we so often connect to the label. There were seventies references (which Miuccia did for fall 2010), but with more pattern and texture. Suede was used in heavy amounts as was a recurring diamond theme. Britches and sparkles also made appearances, reminding us that while this may not be the strongest Prada collection we've seen, Miuccia's sly sense of humor is still in tact.
