Looking fans have some serious action to look forward to.

Recently, Jonathan Groff spoke with Kevin Sussems at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco. During their lengthy conversation--which was just posted online in its entirety--Groff discussed Looking, its upcoming movie finale, and filming gay sex scenes.

The highlight of the discussion? Groff shared that he filmed "the most intense sex scene" he'd ever done for the two-hour finale of Looking. He jokingly said the scene involved "some rimming" and spoke about tackling misconceptions people have about gay sex. Groff remarked that he was shocked that some people didn't realize gay men could have sex while looking at each other until watching the first season of Looking premiered. Groff also added that Andrew Haigh--the director of Weekend, Looking, and 45 Years--wanted to "illuminate male intimacy in sex and in general...by finding moments that felt real and true to life."

As an out gay man, Groff further discussed his experiences in the closet, dating his roommate, and how he kept his life "compartimentalized" during his time on Broadway in Spring Awakening. After coming out in 2009, Groff said he felt immense relief and was finally able to breathe: "Once you're out of the closet, you didn't realize how suffocated you were while you're in it."

The Looking finale doesn't have an exact premiere date yet, but the messiness, intimacy, and explicit sex scenes will be hitting HBO before the year ends.
