Your agenda for next week: sorority brats, a gypsy, and a little nudity. JULY 9: A gay frat boy? Thank you, sir, may I have another! Yes, its ABC Family, but youll be relieved to know that the new series Greek is chockful of bitchy quips, drunken brawls, and old-fashioned duplicity. The show, created by Patrick Sean Smith, chronicles the highs and lows of Greek life at the fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University and features a smooth-talking, closeted queer frat boy named Calvin (played by Paul James). Think of it as your new guilty pleasure. The series premieres at 9 PM EST. JULY 10: Cutting-edge arty folks should head to the Lincoln Center Festival for the world premiere of Slow Dancing, an outdoor installation of mammoth, hyper-slow-mo video portraits of international dancers and choreographers. Each subjects movement was shot with a high-speed, high-definition camera at 1,000 frames per second to create images of extreme slow movement, revealing the nuances of a body in motion. Throw the scenes on three large screens hung on the faade of the New York State Theater and youve got a darling little night out on the town. Skip over to LincolnCenter.org for more info. JULY 11: Mamas gettin hot. After a kick-ass performance in Sweeney Todd, Broadway heroine and Tony winner Patti LuPone is gracing the New York City Center in a limited-time-only performance of Gyspy, where shell play indomitable stage mom Rose. The show, part of the Centers new Encores! Summer Stars Series, is slated to run through July 29, so hurry to NY-City-Center.com for your tix. JULY 12: Outfest, the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, boasts an impressive lineup for its 25th Anniversary gala this year. Highlights include the Outfest 2007 Achievement Award presented to Dreamgirls director Bill Condon, Robert Carys new film Save Me (starring Chad Allen and Robert Gant), and panel discussions with casts and crews from Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters. The festival runs through July 23. Outfest.org has the scoop. JULY 13: Athletes racked by wanderlust should pack up and head over to Antwerp, Belgium, to check out the EuroGames, hosted by the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation. The event is welcoming 3,000 participants and 10,000 visitors this year, and the games include badminton, bowling, Thai boxing, andour personal favewrestling. (The closing ceremony takes place July 15.) Get the deets at EuroGame.info. JULY 14: Now that youve recovered from the bacchanalian insanity that is July 4th, grab a brick of brie and a bottle of pinot to celebrate French holiday Bastille Day. Were obsessed with Fromages.com, a site for cheese aficionados that features recipes for the tasting sessions as well as recipes for dishes like sea bream with Cantal and steamed oysters Fourme dAmbert. Afterward, brush the teeth and go French-kiss your trick du jour. JULY 15: Its the last day of Nude Recreation Week, so take a deep breath and take it off. All off. The Naturist Society hosts a slew of informative workshops and festivals all year long, and now theyre offering a Nude Gardening Seminar & Celebration. (Visit NaturistSociety.com.) If that sounds a bit intense, just stay home and bake a quiche in the buff.
