Halsey is officially a mom!
The bisexual singer, who uses she and they pronouns, announced the birth of her first child, Ender Ridley Aydin, with screenwriter Alev Aydin!
The singer posted a picture with Ender in her arms and Aydin leaning in, showing us the whole, happy family. She also posted a picture of baby Ender breastfeeding and captioned the pictures with, "Gratitude. For the most 'rare' and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin 7/14/2021."
Halsey first announced their pregnancy on Instagram back in January, posting pictures of herself in a rainbow knitted bikini top, and then topless, showing off a growing baby belly. They captioned the post "Surprise!" with the baby bottle emoji, rainbow emoji, and angel emoji.
It's been a 2021 full of announcements for the 26-year-old singer. Not only did they announce their pregnancy and now, the birth of their first child, but in March, she updated her pronouns on social media to she/they and later spoke out about the change. "For those asking RE: my updated IG bio, I am happy with either pronouns," they wrote in an Instagram story. "The inclusion of 'they' in addition to 'she' feels most authentic to me."
The announcements weren't done there. At the beginning of July, she also revealed the album cover and release date for her upcoming album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, in the most iconic way possible: silently walking around the Met standing in front of paintings of queens and mothers.
The album will be out August 27, 2021.
Halsey had been trying to have kids for a while and suffered a miscarriage, which she opened up about in 2018. She also revealed she had endometriosis, and underwent surgery for it in 2017. According to Billboard, the singer froze her eggs at that time.
Now, she's finally the happy mother she's wanted to be and we couldn't be more overjoyed!
