While everyone was sure A Star is Born had the best musical/comedy award in the bag at next year's Golden Globes, it looks like the film is hoping to compete as a drama instead. Despite having one of the best original film soundtracks of all time -- not hyperbole, just facts! -- Indiewire reports that the studio is planning to submit the film in the drama category. The Hollywood Foreign Press has final say in the matter, and things could change before the October 31 deadline but Little Monsters, Mini Coopers and Allygators are starting to get nervous about A Star is Born fighting it out with the other dramas. You might say the film is far from the shallow now...
Also planning to compete as a drama is Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Contenders for best musical/comedy look to be Mary Poppins Returns, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Eighth Grade, Ocean's Eight, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Favourite.
