Fashion Field Trip is back with womenswear designer (and one of our recently announced 100 Most Eligible Gay Bachelors) Chris Benz, who graciously took some time out of his packed schedule to give us a tour of his studio and a sneak peek at his spring collection.
The Seattle-born designer's style is exuberant, playful and made for the modern girl who is not afraid to work with some -- ok, LOTS -- of color. In addition to finding inspiration in his gang of gal pals (who he describes as funny, pretty, casual and not too prissy), Benz's workspace is a reflection of the myriad other influences that inform his aesthetic. The eclectic organized chaos that adorns his showroom pulls from various aspects of pop culture (art, photography, film, music, and architecture to name just a few) and Benz wraps it all up with the perfect balance of funkiness and sophistication. During our visit he also made mention of his spring footwear, designed by none other than Alejandro Ingelmo, another designer we recently featured in our Fashion Field Trip video series.
