Mariah Carey Will Direct & Star In Three Hallmark Movies

Mariah Carey has signed with the Hallmark Channel to develop, executive produce, direct, and co-star in three original movies in the next two years. The pop singer will also compose and produce an original song for each film.

The first of the trio of original movies is set to premiere during the Hallmark Channel's 2017 Countdown to Valentine's Day programming event. The three-picture deal follows the success of A Christmas Melody on the Hallmark Channel, in which Carey starred and made her directorial debut.

"We are honored to continue our collaboration with the multi-talented Mariah Carey," Michelle Vicary, EVP Programming at Crown Media Family Networks, told Deadline.

"It's rare to work with a talent who can produce, direct, star and also compose original music for a project, and we know she will deliver for our viewers once again."
