Oklahoma Wants to Impeach Obama Over Trans Anti-Discrimination Bathroom Directive

"We are going to do everything we can to protect our women and children," explained Oklahoma Senator Anthony Sykes.

Following last week's call from the Obama administration for anti-discriminatory bathroom policies in the nation's schools, Oklahoma has seen fit to call for an impeachment of our president, citing he has "overstepped his constitutional authority."

Obama's directive came after North Carolina passed a bill called HB2, banning non-discriminatory legislation toward LGBT individuals from being created by local government, and other states seemed poised to propose similar laws.

Oklahoma filed two arguments for the president's impeachment on Thursday, claiming that students should exclusively have access to only the bathroom of the sex they were born with, and that in suggesting these practices be changed, Obama had overstepped his role and should be removed from office.

"We are going to do everything we can to protect our women and children," explained Oklahoma Senator Anthony Sykes, who helped to file the suit.

But these charges are absurd, as Obama's directive didn't even require by law that any school practices be implemented.

More information, including full transcripts of the proposed bills, can be viewed here.
