Director, Writer, Producer

The Moment: June 6, 1975: Fox and His Friends, directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, is released.

"Find something real" was the tagline for season 1 of HBO's Looking, and thanks to Andrew Haigh, one of the series' truth-seeking masterminds, many viewers found exactly that. The man behind 2011's Weekend, Haigh serves as an executive producer on Looking while writing and directing multiple episodes. Though hard at work on season 2, he'll likely never be as prolific as Fassbinder. "He was a genius who made more than 40 films," Haigh says. "I'm embarrassed to even dress up as him." Luckily, Haigh doesn't shy away from delivering that reality we crave on screen.
