Georgia Governor Will Veto Anti-LGBT Bill

Rising pressure from corporations have quashed the discriminatory religious freedom bill. 

After national outcry and promises from major corporations to rethink or even terminate business in the state, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal announced today that he will veto the "religious freedom" bill that would have severely threatened the rights of the LGBT community in the state, reports CNN.

Last week Disney and Marvel (which Disney owns) said they would stop filming in the state if the bill passed and soon after other major companies including Time Warner, Lionsgate, Starz, CBS, Sony, 21st Century Fox, Comcast, and others all voiced their opposition to the bill. The legislation would allow faith-based organizations in Georgia the option to deny services to LGBT people.
