Actor, model, screenwriter and producer. Wentworth Miller is an American actor who came out as gay after years of playing straight roles on various television shows. His most recognized role was as main character Michael Scofield on the FOX show Prison Break, but he has also appeared in many different series like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, House M.D., and The CW’s The Flash. He came out after refusing an invitation to the St. Petersburg International Film Festival because of Russia’s anti-gay political climate, and is a supporter of LGBT rights.
As he takes on his new recurring role in Law and Order: SVU, the actor who recently said he would no longer play straight roles, is asking for more depth.
"What I’ve done is a lot of action-adventure, and that’s come with a diverse fanbase. Within that is a homophobic subgroup and their shit’s been washing up on my shore," the actor wrote.
