The Black Party has built quite a name for itself as an iconic event. Called the father of large circuit events by some, it combines all aspects of nightlife: music, dance sex and performance. And over the 40 years it’s been around, the event has built up quite an archive of its own posters.
Featuring the work of iconic queer creators like Robert Mapplethorpe, the archive is a small survey of queer visual culture. Here, with the possible final iteration of the Black Party occurring this weekend, we look at a few of our favorites over the event’s history.
