If The Shoe Fits: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's Shoe Closet

One of the many benefits of being in a same-sex relationship is that, should you be dating someone just about your clothing size, you automatically double your wardrobe. While fighting over clothing is something that (we imagine) straight couples rarely encounter, gay pairs are free to share their favorite garments. But this all presupposes that the couple in question has the same taste in fashion. We've all seen those clone-like couples that look more like creepy siblings than lovers, but plenty of partners each bring a unique sense of self to the union of hearts. Case in point? The all-mighty Ellen DeGeneres and her lady love Portia de Rossi. Anyone who's a fan of the daytime talk show diva knows that she favors a slick suit and a sweet pair of sneaks, while di Rossi opts for a more traditionally feminine manner of dress. Architectural Digest took a whirl around their love nest -- which is a fabulous meeting of minimalism and country charm (plus that pool is pretty fantastic) -- but the most telling thing about the portfolio is a snapshot of their closet (above). In it, Portia's collection of strappy, towering heels sit perfectly in line to the left while Ellen's multicololored, athletic kicks live on the right. Sometimes it's those mundane details that reveal volumes about a couple....we can't help but find it a sweet visual adage, "opposites attract."
