Watch: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zachary Quinto in First Snowden Trailer

Following in the footsteps of Spotlight and other dramas steeped in very recent events, Snowden tells the story of none other than Edward Snowden, the man who blew the whistle on the extent of the NSA's surveillance of the American people.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Snowden from the time he's in the military, through his transition into the CIA, and to the events that would brand him as one of the most wanted men in the world.

Zachary Quinto plays Glenn Greenwald, one of the journalists at The Guardian who helped break Snowden's story. (He was also featured in our annual Power 50 list as one of the most influential LGBT personalities.)

The film was slated for a late 2015 release for Oscar consideration, but its release date has been pushed back to September this year.
