Surprise: they aren't gay.

Looks like the Love, Simon Disney spinoff has its cast. Inspired by Greg Berlanti's 2018 gay romantic comedy, the series has a set of fresh faces to star on the Disney+ show.

The new show will be set in the same world of the film and will follow Victor, a new student of Creekwood High School. Played by Michael Cimino, we'll see Victor struggle through all the typical challenges of being a teen like self-discovery, problems at home, and even his sexual orientation. He then reaches out to Simon to help him through high school, our very own Dear Abby.

Some on social media have already began to point out that Cimino is not gay. The lead for the original Love, Simon, Nick Robinson, was also not queer.

The show will be rounded out with other names like Mason Gooding -- yes, that's the son of Cuba Gooding Jr. and star of Booksmart -- who will play Andrew, a basketball-loving jock. James Martinez, will play Victor's father, Isabella Ferreira will play his sister, Pilar, and Mateo Fernandez will play Adrian, his little brother.

The show will run in half-hour episodes and Robinson will produce and narrate the series. The project will go into production this month and has no premiere date yet as Disney+ hasn't yet launched.

The original film made $66.4 million worldwide on a $17 million budget, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and was pretty well received. Disney is likely betting on that for this new venture.
