Tonight is going to be one of the biggest nights in politics all year, as nine of the leading Democratic candidates for president will gather in Los Angeles for the largest presidential town hall ever devoted to LGBTQ+ issues.
Those who want to watch the discussion live can either tune into either CNN, CNN International, or CNN en Espanol. The event will also be livestreamed on CNN.com's homepage, as well as CNN's apps across mobile devices. This includes the CNNgo app for Android TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Apple TV, and Roku. You can also listen to the town hall event, which is being presented in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign, on SiriusXM Channels 116, 454, and 795 and the Westwood One Radio Network.
The town hall starts at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time and goes until 12 a.m. Candidates will take questions from CNN journalists and from members of the audience.
The candidates who are slated to appear include New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, California Senator Kamala Harris, former Congressman Beto O'Rourke, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, and businessman Tom Steyer.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had accepted an invitation, but after suffering a heart attack last week, he had to cancel all upcoming events. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and entrepreneur Andrew Yang both declined, citing scheduling conflicts.
Dana Bash, Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Nia-Malika Henderson will moderate the event, which will see the nine candidates appearing in back-to-back interviews throughout the night.
This event comes less than a month after actress Angelica Ross of Pose and American Horror Storyhosted an LGBTQ+ forum presented by The Advocate, One Iowa, and GLAAD, becoming the first trans woman to moderate a presidential campaign event of its stature.
With several candidates -- including Warren, Harris and Buttigieg -- releasing LGBTQ+ rights platforms today, there is a lot to discuss. As the Supreme Court looks to decide whether you can legally be fired for being LGBTQ+, the 20th transgender woman was murdered this year and the president is celebrating National Coming Out Day by meeting with hate groups.
It's going to be an interesting -- and important -- watch.
