It’s that time of year again! The Out100 honorees for 2023 have been announced and that means celebrating all the inspirational and influential LGBTQ+ folks that are proudly shaping the future for our community with everything they do. To provide a more in-depth look at our honorees, we’re spotlighting these groundbreaking activists and trailblazing artists with a 1-hour television special that goes into the profound impact and perspectives of these amazing individuals.
Learn more about all the Out100 honorees during this TV special, especially the local LGBTQ+ leaders Out.com and ABC Owned Television Stations have collaboratively chosen to represent select metropolitan areas. Because of their significant impact and commendable stories, these representatives are a part of the Out100 list, furthering an initiative to uplift LGBTQ+ stories and contributions impacting us on a local scale.
Among the local Out100 honorees, Tony Valenzuela, the Executive Director of the One Archives Foundation, which is the oldest active LGBTQ+ organization in the country, dedicated to telling LGBTQ+ history and stories through education, arts, and social justice programs, represents Los Angeles on the list. Other honorees include: Annalisa Perea (Fresno City Councilmember), D’Arcy Drollinger (San Francisco Drag Laureate), Randy Wicker (New York Activist), Diego Cevallos-Garzon (Chicago Business Owner), Naiymah Sanchez (Trans Justice Coordinator for ACLU PA), Kayla Coleman (Executive Director of VAE Raleigh), and Leslie Jackson (Senior Pastor at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Houston, TX).
With this collaboration between Out and ABC OTV, the Out100 TV Special will be airing across the ABC Owned Television Stations’ streaming and digital platforms. Beginning Friday, Nov. 24, an hour-long special will offer audiences an inside look at the profound journey behind the Out100 list, casting light on the inspiring stories of LGBTQ+ victories, challenges, and moments of joy. This special will air as an uninterrupted marathon beginning 11/24 through Sunday, 11/26, on AdvocateChannel.com. After this inspiring marathon, the Out100 TV Special will be available on-demand on the Advocate Channel App.
